UMass Develops High-Tech Uniforms for Soldiers



UMass-Amherst researchers are developing high-tech uniforms for soldiers.  The fabric uses nano-technology to repel chemical and biological agents.  Researchers say the uniform will be like a "smart second skin" that responds to threats in the environment.  Polymer scientists Ken Carter and James Watkins are collaborating with the Lawrence Livermore National Lab to develop the new military togs.
