Carrie Underwood donates show proceeds to charity

Country star Carrie Underwood is donating the proceeds from her Iowa show on Friday to charity because she lost her voice during the concert and cut her set short.

The "Before He Cheats" hitmaker was feeling unwell when she took to the stage in Des Moines, and struggled through a 90-minute performance.

Underwood axed several songs from her set, and as a result she is giving the proceeds from the concert to charity.

She told the crowd, "I've given everything a million per cent, but I'm still only getting about halfway to where I want to be and I'm not used to that. I feel real guilty about making any money off this show tonight. So, whatever I'm making is just gonna go right back into this community because I feel like that's the right thing to do."

Underwood subsequently postponed her Saturday night show in Kansas City, Missouri. She is next due onstage on Tuesday, in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Missouri concert will now take place next May.
