Support for Northampton High Assistant Principal in Pledge Flap
Northampton City Councilor Gene Tacy is adding his two cents to the high school anti-violence pledge flap. Tacy intends to email members of the school committee to voice his support for Vice Principal Bryan Lombardi. It was Lombardi who made the call to go along with a plan plan to gather student handwriting samples with a ruse, in the wake of a threat found written on a bathroom wall. Some cried foul, saying student rights were violated, but Tacy says he weighs student safety much heavier than student rights. Tacy says he salutes Lombardi, and thanks him for his leadership and courage. He hopes the school committee follows suit.
