The home of a Hatfield firefighter is severely damaged after a fire at his home Tuesday.  The flames and smoke destroyed a garage and damaged much of the home of Erik Vangeel and his family on Cronin Hill Road.  Fire officials say if they had arrived just a few minutes later, the entire home would likely have been destroyed.  As it was, damage is estimated at $50,000 and the house is uninhabitable for now.  The family was home at the time of the 4 p.m. fire, but made it out safely.  The cause is under investigation.
