On-street parking on Middle Street in Florence remains a bone of contention between workers at a Main Street medical office building who park there, and residents who live there. But the Northampton City Council is taking no action for now. Middle Street residents are calling for a two-hour limit on parking near its intersection with Chestnut Street. But the council put off a vote on an ordinance change until June. Councilors want to give a DPW plan to paint parking spaces on the street so cars don't block driveways, a chance to work first.
