Times are tough for the Amherst Regional School District, which is facing a $900,000 budget gap for the next school year. To make that up, Superintendent Maria Geryk is proposing to cut the equivalent of 12.6 full-time positions. The cuts are spread across academics and electives at Amherst Regional High School, and will affect phys-ed and technology at the middle school. Geryk says the cuts are in line with changes in enrollment.
