Trace Adkins donates $670,000 to American Red Cross

Country star Trace Adkins has donated $670,000 to the American Red Cross after raising the impressive sum with his team on "Celebrity Apprentice."

The singer presented the charity with the cheque on Sunday after winning the TV show's first challenge, to sell the most meatballs, in the season premiere which aired earlier this month.

Red Cross President and CEO Gail J. McGovern, says, "We could not ask for a better representative of the Red Cross. Trace brings humour, honesty, hard work and grit to everything he does. On behalf of the countless people who will benefit because of your participation in the Apprentice, thank you, Trace, from the bottom of my heart for getting the job done once again."

Adkins has been a big supporter of the Red Cross ever since the organisation helped him out in the aftermath of the 2011 fire which destroyed his home. He subsequently became a member of the Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet.
