A defunct covered bridge in Greenfield will be open to traffic again by the end of the year. The bridge crossing the Green River was knocked off its foundation by Tropical Storm Irene. City Engineer Sarah Campbell tells the "Recorder" once the state Department of Transportation OKs her plans, the project can move ahead.
