Don’t miss this unique opportunity to share in the legacy of a remarkable artist and own a beautiful piece of local history!
Greta Carey (1910-2004) touched many lives through her art and teaching over the course of her long career. In addition to inspiring students in painting and rug hooking at the Hill Institute in Florence, MA, for nearly three decades, she was president of the Williamsburg Brush & Palette Club, a member of the Deerfield Valley Art Association, and an exhibiting artist whose works hang in many local homes and institutions. Her murals of historic scenes, commissioned by a former owner of Brewmaster’s Tavern in Williamsburg and recently reinstalled in the restaurant, won the Grumbacher Award.
This rare auction and sale of her work is organized by the Greta Carey Project committee and made possible by the generosity of Greta’s daughter, Willo Carey, and our business sponsors.
