Easthampton Override Recount

Easthampton will recount every ballot from this month’s Proposition 2½ override vote beginning Thursday at noon. The $6.9 million measure passed by 239 votes, but opponents gathered enough signatures to request a hand count, citing concerns about mail-in ballots and election procedures. The public recount will take place at the Municipal Building and is expected to cost the city about $8,000.
