Fire departments and food programs in Amherst and Granby are getting a boost from the new state budget. Representative Mindy Domb secured 260-thousand dollars for local projects, including new fire equipment, food pantry support and upgrades at the Jones Library. Amherst Fire gets 50-thousand dollars, while Granby Fire receives 60-thousand.
