A monkey research lab at UMass Amherst is shutting down. PETA released a statement last week with the news of the closure of the facility which houses marmoset monkeys to research aging, women’s health, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Agnes Lacreuse, head of the lab, claims she is shutting down the lab to step aside and allow other researchers to get more federal funding amid slashes to funding to the University.
