The mysterious liquid that some Turners Falls High School students found in their chocolate milk cartons last Friday was a diluted cleaning solution used at the HP Hood milk processing facility in Agawam. Three students reported consuming the liquid and one said they felt ill, but none required immediate medical attention. At Tuesday night’s Gill-Montague school committee meeting, superintendent Brian Beck said that the school has been in contact with the company and that the state Department of Public Health is investigating. Only 8-ounce containers of Hood’s fat-free chocolate milk with an expiration date of December 19th were found to be contaminated and have all been recalled by the company.
