Route 9 Amherst Speed Limit Change

Drivers in Amherst will need to ease off the gas on part of Route 9. Following a MassDOT traffic study, the speed limit on Northampton Road between University Drive and South Pleasant Street has been reduced from 40 to 35 miles per hour. Police say new signs are now in place, and the change is aimed at improving safety along the busy corridor.
