Swimming is allowed again at Puffer’s Pond in Amherst after the latest water tests came back within state safety standards. The town had issued a no-swimming advisory last week because of high E. coli levels at the State Street pond. Officials say both North Beach and South Beach now meet safe swimming guidelines. Amherst tests the water weekly from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with results typically posted Wednesday afternoons.
