Amherst is starting to plan for what comes next at Hampshire College. Town officials are partnering with MassDevelopment to study future uses for portions of the campus after the college’s decision to close. The planning process, which begins this month, will explore options including housing and economic development while also looking at ways to preserve environmentally sensitive areas. A public website with updates and opportunities for feedback is expected in the coming weeks.
