Northampton businesses will face new limits on signs after the City Council approved an overhaul of the city’s sign rules. Businesses will be limited to six ground signs, and illuminated signs generally must be turned off by 11 p.m. The changes are meant to bring the city’s regulations in line with a 2015 Supreme Court ruling that barred sign rules based on what the sign says.
