Six Franklin County food pantries are getting some extra help as demand continues to climb. The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts awarded more than 16-thousand dollars locally for new freezers, refrigerators, carts and storage upgrades — helping pantries serve more families and handle more fresh and frozen food. Recipients include the Hilltown Churches Food Pantry, Northfield Regional Food Pantry and the Center for Self-Reliance.
