Holyoke and West Springfield are facing a federal lawsuit over a police chase that ended in a serious crash on Riverdale Street last year. Yurany Loaiza Loaiza, her husband, and their two children are seeking more than 7.5 million dollars in damages. The family says officers should have called off the pursuit before the suspect crossed into oncoming traffic and hit her vehicle. Loaiza was left with severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. Both cities deny the allegations and want the case heard by a jury.
