Leverett is marking America’s 250th anniversary by spotlighting pieces of local history that were already standing during the Revolutionary era. The Historical Commission is putting “Witness to History” signs at qualifying homes, cemeteries and other properties dating to 1800 or earlier. About 20 property owners have joined the effort so far, helping show visitors just how far back Leverett’s roots go.
