Food security and the future of local farming took center stage in Shelburne Falls Tuesday night, as candidates for the 1st Franklin District House seat met for a public forum. Democrat Corinne Coryat, Democrat Lora Wondolowski and Independent Amy Lavallee discussed farm funding, climate resilience, worker shortages and protecting programs like HIP and school meals. The seat has been vacant since Natalie Blais resigned in January. The Democratic primary is September 1, with the general election November 3.
