Amherst Regional High School is looking at Saturday classes as a new way to tackle unexcused absences. The proposed “attendance buyback” program would run from nine to noon, giving students a chance to make up missed time and recover credit from D’s or F’s. Principal Marc Gomes says the goal is to help students meet the state’s required instructional hours while also getting extra academic support.
