Drivers illegally passing stopped school buses in South Hadley could soon face a $250 fine, even without a police officer nearby. The town is considering cameras on its eight school buses to catch violators, with officials estimating more than a thousand incidents each school year. The Select Board has backed the proposal, but voters will have the final say at a special Town Meeting November 9th.
