Some Hilltown voters are being urged not to wait on the mail when returning ballots for the November 3 election. Clerks in Chesterfield and Williamsburg plan to recommend using town offices or ballot drop boxes after a few ballots arrived late during the September primary. State election officials say they have not seen any widespread delivery problem. Mail ballots postmarked by Election Day can still be counted if they arrive within three days.
