A new regional traffic safety plan is now open for public feedback in western Massachusetts. The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission says more than 1,400 deadly or serious crashes happened across the region from 2020 through 2024. The draft plan calls for safer crosswalks, better lighting, sidewalk repairs, speed controls and more bike and pedestrian improvements. Comments are being accepted through July 20.
