Photo: WHMP

Nurses at Baystate Franklin Medical Center say a new round of layoffs is already increasing workloads and hurting staff morale. Employees report cuts across departments including patient transport, human resources, scheduling and billing, though Baystate has not confirmed how many positions were eliminated. Nurses say patient care remains safe, but fewer support workers mean more duties for clinical staff.
