Greenfield landlords could soon face new registration and inspection requirements. A City Council committee has unanimously endorsed a rental registry ordinance that would charge landlords 30 dollars per unit annually and require regular safety inspections. Supporters say it would protect tenants, while opponents argue it creates unnecessary costs and paperwork. The full City Council is expected to vote on the proposal October 21st.
