Northampton High School is getting a major upgrade that could cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half. The city has broken ground on an $11.6 million geothermal heating and cooling system, which will use underground temperatures to keep the building comfortable year-round. The system will replace aging equipment, lower energy costs, and help the city meet its climate goals. Construction is expected to wrap up sometime next year.
